The Thomasville Fly-In

Come join us for the 43rd Annual Fly-In
the 2nd weekend in October!
October 8, 9, and 10, 2010

August 8, 2009

Please fly an FAA standard left traffic pattern; please enter the pattern on a forty-five degree leg.  Use your radio to self-announce your position and intention.  According to the Aeronautical Information Manual, Chapter 4-1-9g, "traffic in the area please advise" is NOT a recognized self-announce position and/or intention phrase and should NOT be used at the fly-in.
The radio frequencies at Thomasville airport are:

119.175 AWOS
123.075 Unicom
123.300 ground advisory -- used only during the fly-in

We have had complaints about landing on runway 4 and taxiing up to the 14/32 intersection.  We do this at the fly-in for two reasons.  The number one reason is to keep you and spectators safe by keeping the ground traffic flowing in same direction.  Otherwise we would have head-on traffic on taxiway Alpha. Our second reason is that we have people at the intersection copying your N number, make and model to get a count of the number of aircraft arriving.  If you turn off early, you don't get counted.  Runway 4/22 is 5,500 feet long.  From the approach end of runway 4 to the intersection of 14/32 runway is 3,168 feet.  What is your landing roll?
